Uni Wall, Astrom ink deal for GDV worth RM2.5 bil

KUALA LUMPUR – Uni Wall APS Holdings Bhd, through its special purpose vehicle with NS Corporation, NS Aero City Sdn Bhd (NSAC), entered into a memorandum of collaboration with Astrom Training Solutions Inc to initiate participation and cooperation to develop parts of the Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0).

In a statement today, it said the first phase will take up about 80.94ha in MVV 2.0 with an estimated gross development value of RM2.5 billion.

Uni Wall chief executive officer Siow Hon Yuen said the collaboration with Astrom, one of the prominent players in the industries, has come at a most opportune time and is another major step forward in the group’s growth journey.

“As an established player, Astrom has significant experience providing training solutions with its state-of-the-art technology.

“This is a great opportunity for us to leverage on Astrom’s existing business and extensive international network.

“We are confident that with the combination of this and support from governmental authorities, we will be able to further the Negri Sembilan government’s agenda to stimulate the local economy by targeting key industry players that are able to make an overall impact,” he said in a statement today.

Under the collaboration, Astrom undertakes to organise a group of companies to participate in the project, including but not limited to real estate and infrastructure development.

The group consists of aerospace companies from Canada, United States, China, and other countries.

Astrom is a prominent player in providing training solutions to the aviation industry registered in Canada with a subsidiary in China.

NSAC and Astrom will also jointly undertake and establish further cooperation in joint business opportunities in the development of certain parts of MVV 2.0.

MVV 2.0 is an economic growth corridor initiated by the Negri Sembilan government, earmarked as one of 17 promoted developmental zones in the Malaysian National Physical Plan.

The overall development, envisioned to be the next integrated city in Southeast Asia driven by public-private partnerships, spans 153,411ha covering the districts of Seremban and Port Dickson. – Bernama, June 3, 2022
