Showers, gusts for Hulu Langat, Sepang until early morning — MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM, June 1 — Heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms are expected to affect the districts of Hulu Langat and Sepang until the early hours of tomorrow morning, according to the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)

In a statement issued at 9.50pm, the agency other states and areas that will also see strong weather include Perlis, Langkawi in Kedah, and Putrajaya.

“Negeri Sembilan will also be affected, including its areas of Jelebu, Seremban and Kuala Pilah. In East Malaysia, Sarawak’s affected areas include Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Marudi) and Limbang.

“For Sabah, the affected areas include (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Keningau and Tambunan), Pantai Barat and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Kudat),” it said.

The weather is expected to persist until 1am.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
