Newcastle United defender Emil Krafth has declared he wants to stay.

The Swede admits Newcastle is an exciting place to be after their takeover last season.

He told Expressen: "Since the change of ownership and coach took place, it has felt very positive. Both for the team and my own part. I have gained a lot of confidence, I have played a lot of matches and it has gone well. It's a bit two faces of the season, the first part was perhaps not great fun but the second part quite the opposite.

The 27-year-old has a contract with Newcastle to 2023.

Krafth continued: "Yes, I still have a contract so I assume that. Both I and the family thrive very well in England and Newcastle, and now that things have gone so well lately, I absolutely hope that I will stay."
