
Kota Kinabalu: A 29-year-old man was charged with taking drugs repeatedly.
Md Hasmin Lumin appeared before Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim to face the charge against him.
However, no plea was taken from Md Hasmin after the charge was read on Friday.
He is accused of taking drugs at 9.45pm on May 28 this year after his urine was tested positive at the city police station.
Md Hasmin allegedly had two conviction records for taking drugs.
The offence under Section 39C (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 provides for a jail term of between five and seven years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court set June 27 for e-review to know the status of the pathology report and no bail was offered to Md Hasmin pending the date.
Meanwhile, a woman was jailed five years for taking drugs repeatedly.
Rujinah Marudin admitted to taking drugs on April 25 this year after her urine was tested positive at the police station here and she has several conviction records for taking drugs.
The court ordered Rujinah to serve the jail sentence from the date of her arrest on April 25 this year.
After completing her jail sentence, Rujinah was ordered placed under police supervision for two years.
