Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is convinced of big things to come from new teammate Erling Haaland.

When Haaland was announced as a City signing, defender Aymeric Laporte joked that he is glad not to be chasing the Norwegian in games, and Ake gave a similar assessment as he looked forward to facing his new teammate in training.

“That will be fun in training. He is of course very powerful and has a nose for goal," he told De Telegraaf, before explaining how he expects Haaland to fit into the squad.

"In the way we play, we may need that type of player too. He's a very different type of player than we have now. I think he is a very good asset."

Kevin De Bruyne has also previewed his future relationship with Haaland, saying recently: "His move should help us to grow as a team. Everybody expects a lot.

"They've always been looking for a No.9, but I think it'll be good to have that striker that maybe scores 20-25 goals a season.

"Maybe (his arrival might help me too). There have been years that I have had more assists (than this season). But my chance creation and other things have remained consistent. Numbers are a part of football but they never tell you the full story."
