Kota Kinabalu: A total of 75 young participants from Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar, Membakut, Sipitang, Tambunan, Keningau and Sook completed a study cum training programme conducted by Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Youth and coordinated by CLCs (Constituency Liaison Committee) and Mudanita.
EVO Camp programme which targeted young people from 18 to 25, aims to educate them on the background history of Sabah coupled with lectures and site visits, on the local cultures, political issues and understanding as well as critical thinking and debate training.
During the course programme, induction courses were given to 50 participants who wished to join the party voluntarily. These new young members will come under new branches to be created directly under the Headquarters. The Party hopes that the EVO Camp mission by the Youth will help increase membership of young members of the party.
EVO Camp, which is also called KEM EVO was renamed in 2015 after earlier camps like Kem Belia and Kem Bestari. Kem Belia, the earliest was started in 1998. All successful EVO Camp participants will be members of the EVO Camp Club and given club member cards. Meanwhile, EVO Camp programme for the East Coast is still open until June 17 for registration in Sandakan.
