Kota Kinabalu: All roads and suspension bridges in Nabawan’s remote villages that were severely damaged by floods in March this year are currently undergoing repairs.
Pensiangan Member of Parliament Datuk Arthur Kurup said teachers who had to walk 18 hours through the night to reach SK Pengaraan in April due to damaged bridges no longer have to go through such arduous experience following the completion of a 45km gravel road from Keningau town to the primary school before the school reopens next Monday.
He said road-clearing works had to be done for a stretch between 2km and 3km long of the road, which would be completed latest by today (Saturday) based on updates from the District Office.
