Barcelona are in talks with Tottenham to place Clement Lenglet on a two-season loan.

TV3 says the French defender is not wanted by Xavi and his future could lie in the Premier League. Barça and Tottenham are negotiating a loan deal.

Lenglet has a contract with Barça until 2026 and talks are underway for a one-year loan, although the English club would have liked a two-year loan initially.

However, a new rule comes into play on July 1 that impedes loans being for more than a season. Barça are looking into the ruling to see if a clause could be included for a second year to kick in. The English side would pay Lenglet's salary.
