Former Tottenham assistant coach Joao Sacramento is ready to enter management.

The Sun says the highly-rated 33-year-old coach teamed up with Mourinho at Tottenham in November 2019 before following him to Roma last May.

Sacramento had a contract with the Italians that ran until 2024, but decided to part ways in early January to pursue a first team head coach role.

There is major interest from several European leagues, especially France, to take a calculated risk on the talented young manager-in-waiting.

Sacramento's background was in video analysis, firstly for the Welsh national team after earning a Master's degree in Sports Coaching and Performance at the University of South Wales – where he first met Mourinho.

He then spent a large spell in France in Ligue 1, first with Lille alongside Marcelo Bielsa and Christope Galtier as Head of Tactics, before replacing the former as an interim coach for six league games at the start of the 2017/18 campaign.
