Kegs Chauke has signed a new contract with Southampton.

The Saints midfielder was coming off contract this month and was weighing up his options.

However, the Daily Echo says Chauke signed a two-year contract with Southampton yesterday.

Chauke and his representatives had sought assurances over a loan move for the youngster to experience his first steps in senior football next season.

Positive meetings had taken place with loan manager Danny Butterfield, academy director Matt Hale and head of scouting and recruitment Martyn Glover.

This led to Chauke penning his new deal, with Butterfield now tasked with finding him a loan club for next season.
