The Daily Mail says United have enquired about Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.
The Italy international is a target for Tottenham boss Antonio Conte though Inter value the 23-year-old at around £50million.
He appeared 44 times for his club last season and is becoming a regular starter for Italy.
Conte previously forged a successful relationship with Bastoni and the pair won the league together at Inter.
