Kota Kinabalu: The reintroduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will do more harm than good in addressing the country’s present economic situation, said Sabah DAP Secretary Phoong Jin Zhe.
He said the Government should, instead, focus on containing inflation to prevent the current situation from worsening for ordinary Malaysians who are already struggling and suffering.
“We must learn from 2017 when our country experienced one of the highest inflation rates of 5.1 per cent after the Government implemented the GST,” he said.
