Kota Kinabalu: The question as to whether the State Sales Tax (SST) on oil products sourced from Sabah waters by production sharing contract firms should go to Sabah although the processing and delivery may take place outside Sabah may be headed to the courts if not resolved amicably.
Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd had said it would not be paying the 5pc SST, believed over a “point of sale” issue.
However, Daily Express understands that the State Government is firm on Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd through its subsidiary Repsol Oil & Gas M Ltd (RML) paying the SST imposed by Sabah.
