Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella admits it was a difficult end to the season.
Barella saw Inter pipped by AC Milan to the Serie A title, while also being part of the Italy team which failed to qualify for the World Cup.
He said, “I'm so sorry not to have won the Scudetto and not qualified for the World Cup.
"But it would be too easy if everything went well – sometimes suffering makes you stronger more than winning."
He added, “Since I started playing I've experienced so many disappointments and so many joys. I try to learn everything that I can from all different situations."
