Brighton defender Leo Ostigard says he's modeling his game on Italy World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro.

The Norway international is off contract this month and has just completed an impressive six months on-loan with Genoa.

Ostigard told VG: "He's my big idol. I want to be myself, but I've seen a lot of him. He's a bit of the same type of player as me. And Italian. I thrive in Italy.

"Flexibility is one thing, timing another. My father and I have trained a lot on this. That was his great strength. I've been heading a ball since I was three years old. So you should be good at it."

Of his future, Ostigard recently stated: "If I have to choose between Serie A and the Premier League right now, I choose Serie A, it is a league that suits me very well. I may soon stay here longer than this half year."
