Benfica striker Darwin Nunez could be excused from Uruguay's international today.

Diego Jokas of TyC Sports says Nunez will not be playing for Uruguay against Panama - in order to allow him to fly to England to complete a switch from Benfica to Liverpool.

Liverpool and Benfica have reached terms over a €100m fee for the striker, with €80m cash up front.

Liverpool's move for Nunez is understood to be linked to the future of Sadio Mane.

The Reds want to buy the 22-year-old as a replacement for Mane and are reluctant to proceed until they receive guarantees over the transfer of the Senegalese star.
