Former Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro is backing Rino Gattuso to take the Valencia job.
The former Napoli coach is in line to replace Jose Bordalas after his sacking by Valencia last week. There has been some resistance towards the appointment due to past comments by Gattuso.
But Cannavaro says: “It's absurd, there are internal clashes between directors at Valencia, just as it happened at Tottenham. Rino is an exemplary professional and has already reached good results as a coach," the former defender claimed.
“He can't be judged by people on social media who have no idea who he is.
"I am convinced that he will do very well in Spain."
