Southampton will be due a windfall should Sadio Mane leave Liverpool for more than £34million this summer.
The Athletic has reported the St Mary's side inserted a sell-on clause in the deal when they sold the forward for £34million in 2016.
Saints would receive a lump sum of around 15 to 20 per cent of profit made by the Merseyside club on the 30-year-old.
Mane signed for Saints from Red Bull Salzburg in September 2014, for a fee reported back then to have been worth £10million.
He went on to play 75 times for Saints in all competitions, scoring 25 goals before moving to Liverpool six years ago.
Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with Mane's signature this summer, with reports claiming he has already signed a three-year deal with the German giants.
