Toddler dies in Beluran crash

Beluran: A four-year-old boy succumbed to injury after the vehicle he was in skidded off the road at Telupid-Beluran road Friday afternoon.

Beluran police chief, Supt Kasim Muda said Muhammad Fahmi Hakimi was travelling together with his parents and three siblings in the 3pm tragedy.

“It was learnt that the family was travelling in a Toyota Prado from Ranau towards Sandakan then.

“Upon reaching the scene, the vehicle skidded off the road while descending a hilly and winding road.

“Other family members sustained only minor injuries. Muhammad Fahmi was pronounced dead when receiving treatment at the Telupid Health Clinic,“ he said.

The body was later sent to Hospital Beluran for post mortem.

Police are investigating the case under Section 41 (1) Road Transport Act 1987.
