AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has held talks with the Swedish FA about a development role.
Ibrahimovic is ready to sign a one-year contract renewal with Milan but is also planning for retirement.
The 40-year-old will be out of action until January at the earliest after undergoing knee surgeru, but the Rossoneri have offered him a one-year renewal.
Ibrahimovic scored eight goals and provided three assists in 23 Serie A appearances this season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport says Ibrahimovic is planning ahead for the future and has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the Swedish FA regarding a representative role.
Whilst it won't be an operational role like being team manager, it will allow him to stay involved with his national team for years to come.
