Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga was happy to score his first goal for Sweden in defeat to Norway yesterday.
Sweden continued their UEFA Nations League campaign against Norway on Sunday night and Elanga started in that match. Erling Haaland scored a brace for Norway and Elanga managed to halve the deficit in extra-time, which was his first international goal.
“It feels good, but we lost against Norway and it was a match we wanted to win," Elanga told Fotboll Skanalen.
“I just wanted to come in and do a great job and show the fans what I can do. I hope I did, and now we focus on Serbia.
"Janne [Sweden manager] just told me that I would do my thing, push them and try to score. That's what I was trying to do today. We started the second half very well and in the return match I think we can do it even better.
"I know we can do it even better and I hope we can get a result in Norway."
