Sabah insists State Sales Tax must be paid

Kota Kinabalu: Second State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the Sabah Government remains fully committed in pursuing all its constitutional and legislative rights to recover the State Sales Tax (SST) due for the sale of petroleum products from both Repsol Oil & Gas M Ltd (Repsol) and SEA Hibiscus Sdn Bhd (SEAH), in accordance with the State Sales Tax Enactment, 1988.

He said this when met after the closing of the Sabah Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (SOGCE) at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Friday.

He was asked to comment on a Daily Express front page report on the recent statement of Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad in relation to its refusal to pay the SST by its wholly owned subsidiaries, Repsol and SEAH.
