West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski could be out for up to three months with injury.

Fabianski tore a hip muscle during the first half of the Hammers' 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on Saturday.

"The staff will decide probably today or tomorrow whether he will have surgery on his muscle or he will recover without surgery," said Pellegrini.

"But I think in the both cases less than three months will be difficult for Lukasz to return."

Asked whether the club will consider bringing in a free agent to provide cover during Fabianski's absence, the boss said: "For the moment we have Roberto as a goalkeeper and I trust a lot in him... I am confident he will have a good performance.

"Also David Martin is a goalkeeper with experience in the league. So, for the moment, we are going to keep things the same way."
