AC Milan chief Ivan Gazidis insists Elliott Management's ambitions are as big as any fan.
Gazidis was speaking after the release of Milan's financial results for 2018-19, which saw them record losses of 146m.
"Elliot wants to take this club back to the top of Italian and world football, and we want to do it without waiting 10 or 15 years," he said.
He added: "We are focusing on young players who can make the most of Milan, but that does not mean we won't invest in experienced players like Higuain last year.
"However, we will not burn resources on football players in decline."
