Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists they didn't deserve the 3-0 scoreline for defeat to Liverpool.

Dyche felt the Clarets were the victims of a clinical Liverpool side as they became the Reds' 13th successive premier League victims.

A fortuitous own goal from Chris Wood, who deflected an intended cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold, broke the deadlock following an even opening half hour at Turf Moor.

Within minutes Sadio Mane had doubled the Merseysiders' lead and a third close to the end from Roberto Firmino sealed Burnley's fate.

I think the scoreline was harsh because there wasn't that much in the game at 0-0," mused Dyche.

It's tough against these top sides, but the energy and the organisation was good.

The game plan was that they play a really high line and we felt we could effect that by getting in behind, which we did a few times,

We kept the chances down and created a few ourselves and at that stage, I was thinking if we can get the game to half time we can assess things.

But all of a sudden you are 2-0 down and scratching your head."
