Crystal Palace have stepped up their search for a new right-back following the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United.

Reece James appears to be their first-choice pick, but Chelsea could take some persuading for them to part ways with the talented youngster, says the Daily Mail.

James enjoyed an excelled season on loan at Wigan Athletic last season, where he won both the Latics' Players' Player of the Year and Player of the Year awards, and is attracting Premier League interest.

Chelsea are unwilling to allow James to go back out on loan until the situation surrounding their transfer ban is firmly established.

Palace are reportedly happy to wait to recruit the youngster, and they will try to sign him either on loan or permanently this summer or in January.
