Arsenal assistant manager Freddie Ljungberg will step in should Unai Emery be axed, it has been revealed.
The Independent says in the wake of their 1-1 Premier League draw with Wolves, the former Gunners star is ready to step in as caretaker boss should Emery lose his job.
The Spaniard is under pressure at Arsenal. His side have not won four of their last five games with the draw against Wolves coming after defeats to Sheffield United and Liverpool, as well as another stalemate with Crystal Palace.
Arsenal want to resist calls to sack Emery until the end of the season.
But the report says that Ljungberg is ready to step in as caretaker should they have a change of heart.
