Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was delighted with their 2-0 defeat of Champions League opponents Dinamo Zagreb.
The Oribici can now still qualify for the Round of 16 if they beat Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine and hope Manchester City do not lose against Dinamo Zagreb.
It was a narrow result, considering how much we dominated the match. We would've been happier with another couple of goals, but the important thing is that we won, we proved the 4-0 defeat in Zagreb was just a fluke and we're giving a real sense to this Champions League campaign," Gasp told Sky Sport Italia.
Atalanta didn't just dominate, they had 24 shots on goal, nine of them on target.
These evenings mean a lot to the players too, we all wanted to prove what we could do, just as we play in Serie A. We wanted this and players like Papu raise their game in these situations.
It was a great performance all round from everybody."
