Watford legend Nigel Gibbs has been appointed to Tottenham's youth coaching staff.

He worked at Spurs as Under-19s coach in 2016/17, before moving to Swansea and later Reading where he was assistant manager for a second time at the Madejski Stadium.

An announcement on the Tottenham website says that Gibbs has now been made assistant head of player development, where he will work with the Under-17s to Under-23s.

The Watford Observer says Gibbs has previous experience of developing younger players from his time at Watford, where he spent three years as a coach and worked with players like Ashley Young and Lloyd Doyley.

His appointment at Spurs was announced alongside former Premier League midfielders Matt Taylor and Ryan Mason.
