Joao Felix admits beating Real Madrid 7-3 was the ideal way to launch his Atletico Madrid career.
The 120m signing impressed during the stunning result.
He told AS: "It was a dream debut, very good, I ended up very happy, it was my first derby and doing what I did in that game is a bit difficult.
"I am satisfied with it. It came out better than I expected.
"I did not imagine it that way. I am very happy, we won, but it is a preseason game and serves as team work."
Felix added: "I've already said that it would be very good if everything they talk about me happened, but it has to be naturally. Only if the team is doing well will I be among the three or four best Spanish LaLiga players. Otherwise it would be impossible."
