Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour was happy coming up against compatriot Scott McTominay on Wednesday night.
18-year-old Gilmour says he learnt a lot playing against the Scotland international in the 2-1 loss to United, in what was just his second start for the Blues.
He said: "I was playing against McTominay who is a Scotland international. I wanted to put myself up against him and I thought I was okay against him.
"That's the standard I want to be at really. It would be a big moment for me to represent my country at full level, but I just need to keep doing what I'm doing.
"Hopefully I get another opportunity at Chelsea this season, but obviously there are a lot of a great midfielders in the team, Jorginho, Kovacic, great players. I am looking up to them and taking parts of their game and trying to put them into my game in training."
