Former Liverpool boss Graeme Souness is warning his old club that Manchester United will not remain a sleeping giant forever.
As the Reds are top of the league and chasing their first league title in 30 years, United are struggling to fight for a top four position under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
While it is a source of pride for many Liverpool fans, Souness warns them and the club to forget about decades of domination in the near future.
"You can never say they [Liverpool] will go into a period of dominance because you have to look at Manchester City they will be around for a long time," Souness told The Mirror.
"There's the emergence of Chelsea's youngsters too. Will they get better in the next few years?
"And Manchester United will be back, guaranteed. It's just a case of when. So you can't say Liverpool are going to dominate."
