Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan says they won't show Southampton any mercy in their upcoming double header.
Saints are still reeling from Friday's record 9-0 battering at home to Leicester City and now face the nightmare scenario of playing Pep Guardiola' side away in the Carabao Cup fourth round on Tuesday and again in the Premier League on Saturday.
"They will probably want to prove everyone that they are not a bad team," said Germany midfielder Gundogan.
"I think it's going to be even more difficult, but we are going to work hard to get the two wins.
"I don't think they will be full of confidence so they might be defending really deep, with a lot of passion.
"We need to be prepared, we need to be ready to play them a couple of times in a row. The first time is already a final, and obviously we want to go through the next round.
"It's not going to be easy, especially after their last result."
