The agent of Nicolas Pepe has lifted the lid on his move to Arsenal.
The Ivory Coast striker left Lille last week for the Gunners for a record 80m.
Samir Khiat told L'Equipe: "There were offers from the top five European clubs. But the clubs that solicited Nicolas already had an offensive trio in place and our main aspect was to think first of all about the player's interest.
"He may well have had an extraordinary season, but if players are already in place it's complicated. Our goal was that Nicolas be someone important in his new club.
"The future will tell us if we were right..."
