PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi was only going to sell Neymar this summer for a record fee.
With the market closing last night, Neymar remains a PSG player, despite efforts from Real Madrid and former club Barcelona.
Le Parisien says the club's Qatari owners felt "humiliated" when they learned Neymar had asked sports director Leonardo to let him leave this summer, and that at all times "placed all kinds of difficulties for Barcelona to carry out the operation".
Even so, the president left the door open to the Brazilian's transfer so long as an essential condition was met: "Yes, Neymar can leave, but only if a huge offer arrives: 300m."
Al Khelaifi made the confession to an unnamed senior player.
