Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk says he needs to improve his goalscoring.
The 28-year-old has scored seven goals in 73 appearances for Liverpool and has vowed to improve that ratio.
With my height and qualities with heading I should be a little bit more dangerous but it is not easy," said Van Dijk.
Most of the time I am always marked by the best defensive header of the ball from the other team, but it is something I am definitely challenging myself to improve and that can only be a good thing."
Van Dijk also believes Liverpool should look to improve their record in the domestic cup competitions.
We want to compete in all competitions," he said. It is something we aim for. We won the Champions League last year but if you look at the other competitions we played we did not do too great.
We are going to give it a go and try to get as far as possible in all of the competitions and everybody starting each competition will be trying their hardest.
We have spoken about a lot of things, but the main thing is that we are starting over. Last year was last year."
