England manager Gareth Southgate believes that he dished out the appropriate punishment for Raheem Sterling's behavior.
Sterling and Liverpool defender Joe Gomez were involved in a bust up during the national team training camp.
It appears there was bad blood between the players after the recent Manchester City and Liverpool Premier League game.
Sterling is subsequently dropped from their upcoming game against Montenegro.
Speaking about the situation, Southgate told reporters: "I think it was important to come and speak publicly so that the players don't need to deal with that going forward.
"Raheem in his post last night explained that for a very brief moment his emotions ran over. It would be correct to say that that was not the same for Joe.
"We have some excellent senior players who have played a part in bringing everybody together."
