Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is delighted to have worked with West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere was seen as a coup when loaned from Arsenal for the 2016-17 campaign, but grabbed just two assists and failed to score in 27 games.

Howe told The Sun: I've heard a couple of people say Jack didn't do well for us.

But Jack was brilliant. It was a really important signing on so many levels.

The players were a bit like, 'Wow, we've signed Jack' and suddenly our opinion of ourselves went from there to there," he explained, gesticulating a low level to high.

It was a boost for everyone's self-worth. The value of how we looked at ourselves as a team. He did that.

He was really good on the training ground and really popular in the dressing room. Jack elevated some players' performances to different levels."
