Manchester United will make a formal approach for Sean Longstaff this week.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to make the Newcastle United midfielder his third signing of the summer, following deals for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.
Longstaff, 21, is currently rated at 25 million after enjoying a breakout season at St. James' Park.
The Telegraph says Solskjaer is keen to wrap up a move for Longstaff before his team departs for Australia on July 7.
The Red Devils also tied down Marcus Rashford to a four-year contract on Monday.
