AC Milan midfielder Alen Halilovic has cut short his loan with Standard Liege to move to Heerenveen.
Halilovic had joined Standard in January on an 18-month deal, but managed just 14 appearances last season.
He will now spend the current campaign with Heerenveen, who are 10th in the Eredivisie after five games.
The Croatian was the final signing of the Li Yonghong era at Milan, arriving on a free transfer from Hamburg last summer.
However, the 23-year-old went on to play just three times in the Europa League.
