Manchester United Treble winner Peter Schmeichel has paid tribute to his son Kasper after he kept a clean sheet in Leicester's 9-0 romp at Southampton.

The result drew the Foxes level with United's own record.

Schmeichel Sr and his son are now the only two goalkeepers who have kept a clean sheet in a 9-0 win.

Peter achieved the feat after Manchester United put nine past Ipswich Town in 1995 - then the biggest win in top flight history, now levelled by Leicester.

He posted to social media: "What a fantastic performance by @kschmeichel1 and his @lcfc team for winning 9-0 at Southampton.

"If anyone had to equal our @ManUtd record from 94/95 I'm proud and glad that it was you."
