Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodsgon admits the club considered selling Wilfried Zaha in the summer.

The winger has a long contract and is the club's highest earner, but he demanded a move to Arsenal or Everton in the transfer window.

Eventually, Zaha stayed. But Hodgson admitted that it could have gone the other way.

Reports in England suggested that Palace had agreed to talk about the possibility of a transfer with Zaha in the winter.

"With Wilf, I don't think anyone was thinking we definitely must block him because we want our best player still with us," Hodgson said to reporters.

"We understood that if a really big offer comes his way and a much bigger club than Crystal Palace want him, and he is desperate to go, we are going to have to try and do some kind of deal."
