Tanguy Ndombele admits quitting Lyon for Tottenham last summer was something that arrived ahead of his career schedule.

The France midfielder says he could've stayed longer with the Ligue 1 outfit.

He told Foot Mercato: "At first, when I arrived in Lyon, no I did not see myself leaving so fast. But football goes at 200 miles an hour. After a year, I could have left.

"Afterwards, the club did not want me to leave and I was not necessarily going to leave. But if I had to leave then, I would have done it.

"Lyon kept me and the following year I left. As they say, everyone has found his account. It was a beautiful story. If I could have stayed an extra year? Yes. Then, I do not know how it would have happened. But, yes, I could have stayed one more year at OL."
