Rangers boss Steven Gerrard admits a move for Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden today was a non-starter.

Rangers, along with Serie A side Roma, were understood to be interested in a temporary deal for the playmaker.

But Gerrard says Pep Guardiola has rejected any notion of a switch.

I don't think Pep Guardiola's going to let him go anywhere, I don't think he's letting him go anywhere," the Liverpool legend said.

Gerrard went on to say that he would be surprised" if there were any new arrivals at Ibrox today.
