New St Etienne signing Denis Bouanga has revealed the influence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his move.
The Arsenal star is a former ASSE player and a Gabon teammate of Bouanga's.
Bouanga revealed: "The wait was endless because in my head, I had already turned a page, I had already focused on the project of Etienne. It was very long. But I prepared myself on the side of Nimes. They have been following me for two years. It was the right moment, I played in Ligue 1 thanks to Nimes and now, I'm here.
"Aubameyang gave me some good advice, it gave me even more desire. He will remain an icon here, I'm just starting. I hope to follow his steps, he really marked the ASSE, I aspire to do the same. This is an example here."
