Juventus signing Matthijs de Ligt admits Fabio Cannavaro influenced his choice.
De Ligt chose to sign for Juve ahead of PSG and Barcelona.
The former Ajax captain explained: "My future? I thought about it a lot, I decided to wait until the end of the holidays. I made my decision to leave after the semi final with Ajax last year.
"Many people talk about me, I want to give the best of myself. As a child, I loved Fabio Cannavaro a lot and that's why I wore the Juventus jersey (when he was a child).
"I'm a fan of Juve since I was a child. Why Juve and not Bara or Paris? As I said, it was a long process. Italy has a great tradition of defence. For me, it's a big challenge, Juve then showed me that they really believed in me and that they wanted me strongly."
