Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted with their 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.

Jamie Vardy and Caglar Soyuncu struck the goals for Leicester.

Rodgers said, "I have great pride with the team today. You need to be strong mentally when you come to teams like this. Roy sets his teams up well and you know when your chances come you have to take them and we did. It's also another clean sheet and that's so important."

The win takes Leicester to third.

Rodgers continued: "We could have been quicker on the ball. We have not beaten Palace in four games so it was really good to get the win. If you want to be a top side you have to be able to keep the ball, be able to play against teams who sit deep and then be able to counter.

"We are growing and improving every game which is pleasing. I always think to attack well you need to be able to defend well. It's very important to be as creative as we want but we take pride in being able to press well as well.

"The players deserve a huge amount of credit. The supporters are enjoying watching the team. We are not getting carried away but we have made a good start."
