Joel Pereira has revealed Hearts was given the seal of approval by Manchester United teammate Demetri Mitchell.
The Portuguese goalkeeper has joined Hearts on a season-long loan deal.
Mitchell joined the Jambos for loan stints twice over the past two seasons and encouraged Pereira to make the move to Edinburgh.
"I had a friend that was here before, Demi, and I spoke with him about the club, about the league and he told me a lot of positive things," he told Hearts TV.
"My Premier League debut alongside Demi was amazing. It was a special moment for me and the whole club, because I wasn't the only young player who played this game.
"A lot of players from the academy were involved so it was an amazing day for everyone. It was a dream come true to play in the Premier League for the biggest club in the world."
