Atletico Madrid fullback Renan Lodi appreciates playing for coach Diego Simeone.
The 21-year-old has been a regular in Simeone's starting line-up for Los Rojiblancos this season and is now a full Brazilian international.
"Simeone spoke a lot with me, we spent hours and hours in the video room and he taught me what I had to improve, mainly in defence," Rodi told the press.
"I think I'm now on another level from a defensive standpoint. I feel I've grown thanks a lot to Simeone.
"He's a very tough and strict coach that has a high level of demand and I'm very happy that he has so much confidence in my and to be improving my defensive work."
Lodi has replaced compatriot Filipe Luis at left-back in the Atletico team and he revealed how the outgoing Brazilian helped him settle in.
"He explained the dynamic of the club, the dressing room to me and how to please the boss, who is a very demanding coach," Lodi said.
"The truth is that I'm very grateful to him for his support."
