Mauricio Pochettino says an invitation to dinner from his Tottenham players proved that they were not against him.
Spurs are experiencing a terrible start to the season having won just three matches across all competitions.
But Pochettino says their dismal form has nothing to do with his players losing respect for the coaching staff.
"When last week, you receive a text from the player inviting you and the coaching staff for a dinner only two things can happen," Pochettino said.
"Because they want to say goodbye. Or because they feel that they love you and they want to show that they are with you.
"And I think it's the second. They are not about to say goodbye to me. To say goodbye to me, say goodbye here. Not inviting me to dinner."
